This iron design features a low center of gravity and a generous off-set that launches the ball high and provides maximum forgiveness on off-center hits. Callaway’s R&D team aims to continue the success of the face cup design that was developed for the X-Hot fairway wood line. Typical multi-piece irons have welds across the top and bottom of the face. On the Big Bertha, the weld line circles the top line and the sole which creates a more flexible face that leads to higher ball speeds.
