Counterbalancing Putters
COUNTERBALANCED PUTTERSCounterbalancing or the act of placing a mass of weight in the grip end of the club has been around for years. However, after the USGA placed a ban on the anchoring of the putting stroke that practice is back in vogue. The weight increases the overall MOI (Moment of Inertia or resistance to twisting) of the putter and stabilizes the hands through the stroke. If you are currently in a belly putter or simply looking for a way to keep the wrist from breaking down during the stroke then a counterbalanced putter is one that you should come in and try. We can identify if counterbalancing is something you should consider during our putter fitting process. We can counterbalance your current putter in our shop with a larger grip or by placing weight in the shaft. If you have a new putter in mind we have the TaylorMade Daddy Long Legs and the Odyssey Tank in several models.
