Titleist AP1 and AP2

This week we take a look at the new AP line for 2014 from Titleist. The long irons have a lower CG for increased launch while the short irons have a thicker face to lower the launch. The 2014 cosmetic changes include a beveled leading edge for better turf interaction and satin finish to reduce glare. The AP2 is a two piece forged iron that will appeal to the low to mid handicapper looking for enhanced feel and distance control. The AP1 is a cast iron that targets the mid to high handicapper looking for forgiveness on off center hits. Golfers looking for the best of both worlds might consider a blended set that would include the long irons in the AP1 and the mid and short irons of the AP2.
