Golf Balls and Colder Weather
Golf Balls and Colder Weather
Do you notice a significant loss of distance when the winter weather brings a significant drop in temperature? The rubber materials used to make a golf ball respond better when it is warmer. The ideal temperature for golf ball performance is between 70° and 90°. At 40° you could notice a loss of up to 5 to 10 yards. Generally a higher compression golf ball will not travel as far as a lower compression golf ball in cooler temperatures. Everyone has a favorite golf ball but making a change during the winter can help you gain back some of that lost yardage. Below is a list of a few of the low compression golf balls.
Callaway Supersoft ($19.99)
Bridgestone Fix ($19.95)
Titleist DT Solo ($19.95)
Nike PD Soft ($15.95)
